Rom the Spaceknight 70 cover

When I started to make real cash as an artist I indulged in picking up a few pieces of original comic book art. I always really wanted the cover to Rom 70. I guess it would be my "grail" of original art. I don't even know why I love this cover so much, but I used to stare at this cover for hours and try to figure out how to draw like that. The original pencil work is by Jackson Guice and inks by Jerry Ordway.

I never did find this piece for sale, and with the recession I can safely say I'm no longer making "real cash."

So I decided to make my own copy. I inked it almost entirely with the new style of Sharpie pen that came out this year. That thing is freaking amazing. I can replicate a lot of my crowquill tricks with that sucker.

Anyways here it is. I even printed out the logos, comic code, price, etc. and pasted them on with rubber cement like they would have been on the original.

Now I have to find a frame and hang this badboy in the studio.
